(BERLIN) -- Many sections of Germany’s Autobahn have no speed limit, but there are strict limits on roads in residential areas, which a driver discovered when he was caught speeding three separate times in 23 minutes Tuesday.
AFP reports the driver was first caught at 12:24 p.m. for doing 54 mph in a 30 mph zone. German authorities say the motorist was given a warning, but was clocked by a measuring device six minutes later doing 41 mph in the same zone.
Then at 12:47 p.m., police say the driver cruised past a speed trap doing 43 miles per hour in a 30 mile-per-hour zone, and waved at the police officer for good measure.
Authorities say the motorist's license had already been suspended for a month earlier this year for speeding. His latest speeding incidents carry total fines of $257 dollars and three points on his license.
