Suicide Bombings Kill Dozens in Pakistan

George Doyle/Thinkstock(DERA GHAZI KHAN, Pakistan) -- At least 30 people were killed in Pakistan Sunday after two suicide bombings rocked southern Punjab Province.

The two explosions occurred in the vicinity of a Sufi shrine in Dera Ghazi Khan, killing more than 30 people and injuring at least 80 others, according to officials. Authorities say the bomb blasts went off at a time when devotees had gathered at the shrine for an annual congregation.

Authorities say two would-be suicide bombers were also taken into custody at the scene.

Sufi shrines in the Punjab Province have been the target of attacks by militants in the past. It is unknown which group was behind Sunday’s suicide bombings.
