UK Hacking Trial: Kate Middleton's Phone Hacked

Getty Images(LONDON) -- A phone hacking trial in London has heard that Prince William's voicemails to Kate Middleton were allegedly hacked by an investigator working for the News of the World tabloid.

Former tabloid editors Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson are on trial with former royal editor and reporter Clive Goodman, accused of conspiracy to illegally intercept voicemails, along with other offenses. Four others have also been accused, according to the BBC.

The messages date back to 2006, when the couple was dating. The court is hearing transcripts read out of voicemails from William to Kate, as well as a voicemail left on Prince Harry's phone.

In one message, Prince William calls Kate by a pet name, "babykins," according to British royal reporters in court. In another, he describes how he was almost "shot" with a blank round by a colleague during a military exercise. At the time, the prince was an officer-in-training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

One voicemail left on Prince Harry's phone by his brother called him a "big ginger" in a high-pitched voice, with Prince William posing as Harry's former girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.
