US Base in Afghanistan Attacked by Taliban

Manjunath Kiran/AFP/Getty Images(NANGARHAR, Afghanistan) -- Taliban militants attacked a United States base in eastern Afghanistan.

No U.S. soldiers were killed and the attackers did not enter the base, the BBC reports.

The militants allegedly set fire to Nato supply trucks outside the base, which led to a gun battle. Three insurgents were killed in the gunfire, the BBC reports.

The fire to the Nato vehicles has blocked the supply route from Pakistan.

A Taliban spokesperson told the BBC the Taliban was responsible for the attack.
