At the roundtable, Paul Gigot, editorial page editor of the Wall Street Journal, Katrina Vanden Heuvel, editor of the nation, political commentator Cokie Roberts, Romney campaign adviser Kevin Madden, and Mellody Barnes who headed domestic policy under the administration discussed the economy and politics.

This Week (7.24.11) - Debt Talks Continue

In this episode, Christiane Amanpour interviews Timothy Geithner, the Secretary of the Treasury for the U.S.  Geithner will be in charge of the mess if politicians cannot come to an agreement about the debt ceiling before the deadline.  Then, Christiane hosts a roundtable with George Will, Arianna Huffington, Alice Rivlin, and Charlie Gasparino about what would happen with the U.S defaults on its credit.  Finally, Chrsitiane sits down to interview NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his 2 aides about the legalization of gay marriage in New York State.  Bloomberg offered to officiate the wedding of his aides the day gay marriage became legal in New York.
